Hey guys! Quick update on the contest winner from yesterday. She sent me the picture they want to use…OMG it’s awesome. It almost doesn’t look real, it’s so pretty and picturesque. I’m having one of those AHH TOO MANY IDEAS WHERE DO I EVEN START moments with it. We haven’t decided on what it should say and I’m already designing 1,000 different versions of it in my head.
Thankfully, I had the distraction of working on this Save the Date tonight!
Spoiler alert: I’m making this wedding up.
Don’t be mad. I’m trying various styles of invitations to see if I can find the niche that I like best. Or, what will more likely happen, the style finds me. That’s how it’s been happening since I started calligraphy!
Sometimes I’m wary of the wedding industry because I feel very out of place in it. If you’ve been reading this blog for even just a few days you might get the idea of the type of person I am. I am happiest when I am outside and moving. I suck at being girly, I never have make-up on and my hair is almost always pulled back. I go to one party a year where I have to look nice. Wait. 2. One’s a party, the other is a lunch. I have never and will never watch the Bachelor.
BUT, all that being said, I KNOW there are other people like me in the industry. And by creating these fictional people for their awesome fairytale wedding, I get a better idea of my style and how it relates to my ideal client. And let’s be real, I loved getting dressed up and looking awesome for my wedding. Sigh. I loved my wedding.
Enough chatter, let’s hear about the lucky couple!!
Meet Maggie and Sawyer.
Maggie is a food blogger who loves hiking. Sawyer has a desk job doing what I refer to as “call center” work because even when he explains what he does no one can understand. “Something about something where maybe some forklifts are involved and a warehouse in Austin, oh never mind. He works at a call center.” Confined to a desk all day, Sawyer is a huge weekend warrior always planning camping trips for him and Maggie to get away and spend time outside.
They decided on a small wedding with just family and a few friends. The wedding is at the Collegiate Peaks Overlook in Buena Vista, Colorado. I know. These people are my people. Flannel shirts, Patagonia puffy vests, IPA’s, and sweet potato fries.
This Save the Date is still a work in progress, I want to tinker with it some more. But when you promised to post everyday for 100 days, you gotta have something!
See you tomorrow for more Maggie and Sawyer adventures!! Do you think they sound like a fun couple? What kind of music should we have play at their wedding? Don’t say country.
Thanks for reading!!
